RARE LIONEL 392E Presentation Prize. This unusual piece was purchased from the children of the Hirsch Family whose father 's name is on the plaque. ST. Ga., History- 1939 San Francisco, for the opening of the Golden Gate bridge, California held its own World's Fair celebration, paralelling the NY Event. At this event, there was a "Collection" of trains displayed, where this Unique piece was on exhibit. Lem C. Sweeny was a Field agency for Pacific-Mutual and acquired the 392E after the fair and presented it to it's top salesman, Mr. Hirsch. Documented in the 1939 Pacific-Mutual Field News, Vol. 3, #11, is a write-up on Mr. Hirsch's achievements as well as a photo of this locomotive, both at the World's Fair and at the agency where it was presented. It is a chrome plated 392E w/Long Haul 392W tender. Copy of article included. Plate on Tender reads, " Won by//Fred L. Hirsch// Pacific-Mutual//Inter-Agency// 1939”.
